Objectives

The Spanish Biotechnology Society was formally established in 1989, with the aim of promoting the development of biotechnology in Spain in all of its applications and activities.

The main aims of SEBiot are:

  • To promote research and facilitate the transfer of knowledge in biotechnology.
  • To constitute a forum for the exchange of ideas and information between people involved in biotechnology research and professionals related to the biotech sector.
  • To promote and disseminate knowledge of biotechnology in society.
  • To channel collaboration relations with public and private scientific entities.
  • To establish relations with related national and international societies and associations and to foster international collaboration, especially within the framework of the European Union.
  • To promote and organise scientific meetings, courses and seminars and sponsor scientific and informative publications.
