8th Conference on Physiology of Yeasts and Filamentous Fungi (PYFF8)
The Microbial Biotechnology Division of the EFB is delighted to invite scientists from industry and academia to Ireland for the 8th Conference on Physiology of Yeasts and Filamentous Fungi (PYFF8). Since the first meeting in Denmark in 2001, every three years, scientists interested in the fundamental physiology and biotechnological applications of yeast and filamentous fungi have gathered to share latest results, develop new collaborations and reinvigorate networks.
The event will be hosted by University College Cork (UCC) in Cork, Ireland, and according Prof. John Morrissey, main organizer, PYFF8 in Cork is shaping up to be a great meeting with ~200 delegates and a host of top-notch speakers including Arturo Casadevall, Jeanne Ropars, Gero Steinberg, Jose Paulo Sampaio, Lars Regestein, Hyun Ah Kang, Kiran Patil, Eva Balsa-Canto, and others. It is also a chance to hear about European Research Infrastructures [IBISBA and MIRRI], receive updates from COST Actions [Yeast4Bio and Pimento] and discuss the future of scientific publishing [FEMS, Microbiology Society, British Mycological Society]. Registration will be possible as long as capacity remains but the last opportunity to have an abstract considered for an oral presentation, for early career researchers to apply for a bursary, and to avail of the early bird rate in March 28th.
