The Spanish Society of Biotechnology (SEBiot) was formally constituted in 1989, with the aim of promoting the development of biotechnology in Spain in all its branches and activities.

SEbiot is a Branch Office of the European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB) since 2003.

Objectives

SEBiot collaborates with national and international entities to promote research and innovation in biotechnology, as well as the transfer of knowledge to society.

The Assembly of members is the highest governing body of SEBiot, which meets annually to elect the Executive Board. Sections are spaces for collaboration among our members.

SEBiot was formally constituted in 1989, after a long process of reflection within the framework of the first national biotechnology congresses (León 1986 and Barcelona 1988).
