Agreements and collaborations
The Spanish Society of Biotechnology (SEBiot) has collaboration with other related entities as one of its strategic objectives, thus seeking to extend its capacities for the promotion of biotechnology in all its modalities and fields of application, from basic research to dissemination and the active participation of society in its development and use.
SEBiot’s stable collaborations and participation in national and international networks are detailed below.
Confederation of Spanish Scientific Societies (COSCE)
SEBiot is one of the 80 member societies of COSCE, established in 2004 to channel the initiatives of scientific societies and represent science before society and public authorities. In 2018, SEBiot also joined the Agreement on Transparency in Animal Experimentation, promoted by COSCE in collaboration with EARA. [+info]
European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB)
SEBiot has been part of the EFB almost since its constitution. In 2001, we jointly organised the 10th European Congress of Biotechnology in Madrid and, since 2003, SEBiot is the Regional Branch Office of the EFB, with representation functions throughout Latin America. Members of SEBiot sit on the boards of the divisions of Biocatalysis and Biobased Materials.
Plataforma de Mercados Biotecnológicos
The Plataforma de Mercados Biotecnológicos (Spanish Biotech Platform) was launched in 2010 by AseBio, with the collaboration of the Spanish Society of Biotechnology (SEBiot). Its aim is to provide stable, efficient and multilateral communication channels between the different agents of the science-technology-business-society system, to foster collaboration and technology transfer.
Association of Biotechnology Communicators (ComunicaBiotec)
In July 2021, a collaboration agreement was signed between SEBiot and the Association of Biotechnology Communicators (ComunicaBiotec) to jointly promote the dissemination of biotechnology and its scientific and social objectives, challenges and benefits. [+info]
